In the policy brief "COVID-19: Impacts on African economies – economic challenges and social safety net responses", they explore the evidence on direct and indirect effects of COVID-19 on the most vulnerable countries. Furthermore, they summarize actions that African governments have taken and present four “innovative ideas” to consider in the future, especially to continue poverty reduction and sustainable development, as part of Africa’s COVID-19 recovery plan and in partnership with development actors, including China.
